Energetic Facilitation

Target Audience: CWTS Learning & Development Pool facilitators

This one-hour facilitated online learning experience is intended for facilitators who are part of the CWTS Learning & Development Pool. We will explore the ways energy shows up in the learning environment on a variety of levels. First, your personal energy as a facilitator and ways to maintain energy throughout the training day. Second, the energy of individual learners and how you, as a facilitator, can directly impact a learner's energy level. And finally, the energy of the environment—something we might not immediately think about, even though it has the potential to make a learning experience successful.

Lights, Camera, Action!

Target Audience: CWTS Learning & Development Pool facilitators

This one-hour facilitated online learning experience is intended for facilitators who are part of the CWTS Learning & Development Pool. Believe it or not, there are a lot of similarities between acting and facilitation. Tone of voice, body language, positioning in the room—these are all considerations that contribute greatly to the success of both professional roles. Learn acting techniques from a professionally trained actor that will drive your facilitation to the next level.

Not Another Fairy Tale: Storytelling in Facilitation

Target Audience: CWTS Learning & Development Pool facilitators

This one-hour facilitated online learning experience is intended for facilitators who are part of the CWTS Learning & Development Pool. As a facilitator, you are inviting people to stretch their thinking, try out new perspectives, and make improvements to their practices. All of these require a tremendous amount of connection and trust between the person doing the inviting and those invited. One way to build that is through effective use of storytelling. Storytelling used in facilitation is more than just sharing an experience. There are several components that need to be present for storytelling to work for learning. This session will look at three stellar storytellers to give you specific techniques to integrate into your facilitation.

Why Won't They Stop?

Target Audience: CWTS Learning & Development Pool facilitators

This one-hour facilitated online learning experience is intended for facilitators who are part of the CWTS Learning & Development Pool. Experiencing challenging behavior from learners can cause insecurities, even for the most experienced facilitator. In addition, these sorts of disruptions can also have negative consequences for other learners and the overall learning environment. What if there was a different way to think about and approach these challenges? What if when you did think about and approach these challenges differently, the learner's behavior changed as a result? Come take a deeper look into a theory we're all familiar with, Adult Learning Theory, to specifically help with challenging learner behavior.

Facilitate From Your Why

Target Audience: CWTS Learning & Development Pool facilitators

This one-hour facilitated online learning experience is intended for facilitators who are part of the CWTS Learning & Development Pool. Researcher and award-winning author Simon Sinek said, "People don't buy what you do; they buy why you do it." We are accustomed to beginning with our what (I facilitate training) or how (I read through my curriculum, stand in a room full of learners, etc.)  and often leave our why behind. But when we're clear on our why, we create meaningful, purpose-driven learning experiences. Learn more about the work of Simon Sinek around the importance of our why. Define your personal why and find ways to support facilitating from your why rather than your what or how.

Landing the Plane: How to Assess for and Drive Learning

Target Audience: CWTS Learning & Development Pool facilitators

This one-hour facilitated online learning experience is intended for facilitators who are part of the CWTS Learning & Development Pool. Every facilitator's goal is to have learners achieve the learning objectives of a course so that they may be more confident and competent in their work. Figuring out whether learners are moving toward or away from that goal can be very challenging. Learn strategies to assess for and support the transfer of knowledge in the courses you facilitate.

Dive In: Deepening Conversation to Drive Learning

Target Audience: CWTS Learning & Development Pool facilitators

This one-hour facilitated online learning experience is intended for facilitators who are part of the CWTS Learning & Development Pool. The deepening of conversations within the learning environment can be the missing piece of the puzzle to getting learners to connect with the course material. Being able to do so through the effective use of questions, responses, and challenges is often much more difficult than it seems. During this learning experience, you will learn concrete strategies for deepening conversations that you will be able to immediately apply to the learning experiences you facilitate.
