But a bystander’s call to police resulted in child abuse charges that have upended her life.

First Light is an independent film about the first truth and reconciliation commission (TRC) to form in the US. The TRC in Maine explored the impact of child welfare policies and practices on the Wabanaki people. This was the first such task force in US history to investigate issues important to Native Americans.
